Ruff justice for canine pitch invader

An Argentine footballer has found himself in hot water after his heavy-handed treatment of a dog that ran onto the pitch.

Jose Jimenez was playing a match for lower league side Bella Vista over the weekend when a stray pooch wandered onto the field of play - a scenario familiar to pub league and park players the world over.

But rather than chasing the hapless hound off with the waving of the arms and the 'go home' technique, Jimenez chose to grab it in a two-handed choke hold and attempt to fling it over an eight-foot boundary fence.

This is one way to make yourself unpopular.

As the footage shows, Jimenez' actions were not best received by crowd and players alike, with the former hurling abuse and the latter converging to make their opinions known.

He was eventually sent off, which was no more than he deserved.
