Graham Norton has been conferred with an honorary doctorate at UCC today.

The Bandon native studied French and English at the Cork University for two years.

He left in 1983 and went on to become one of the country's best loved broadcasters and comedians.

Speaking to Cork's RedFM, Norton said he is thrilled with the honour.
