Corrie star expecting second child

Jack P. Shepherd and his fiancée are expecting their second child together.

The 25-year-old actor - best known as David Platt in ITV soap 'Coronation Street' - took to his Twitter account to reveal his fiancee Lauren Shippey is expecting a baby, a brother or sister for their three-year-old daughter Nyla.

He tweeted: "Me and @LaurenShippey are pleased to announce we are expecting a baby, we are both very happy. X (sic)"

Co-star Georgia May Foote - who plays Weatherfield beauty Katy Armstrong - congratulated the pair, writing: "@JackPShepherd88 @LaurenShippey congrats to u both! Aww chuffed :) x (sic)"

Former 'Coronation Street' star Lucy-Jo Hudson - who is currently expecting her first child with husband Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone Dobbs in the show - also shared her excitement at having a shopping buddy for baby clothes.

She posted: "@JackPShepherd88 @LaurenShippey yay it's out! So happy for you both! Can't wait to go baby shopping with you Lauren xxx (sic)"

While Jack celebrates his pending fatherhood, his alter-ego is unaware his wife Kylie Platt (Paula Lane) may be carrying his brother Nick's baby after the pair had a one-night stand on Christmas Day last year.
