Mr President, we love what you've done with your hair

There's something different about Barack Obama. We just can't quite put our finger on it…

Mr President, we love what you've done with your hair

The leader of the free world is trying out a new look.

Ok, he's not really, but you guessed that.

This photoshopped image was all part of the fun and frolics at the annual White House Correspondents' Association Dinner in Washington on Saturday night, a much-anticipated shindig where POTUS rubs shoulders with the cadre of unwashed journalists that make up the DC press pack, and celebritie guests like Conan O'Brien.

It's an occasion for good-natured ribbing and for the President of the day to poke some fun at himself (or herself, as the case will some day be).

And the hair thing? It's taking the mickey of coverage of Michelle's new 'do'.

'Bangs', we believe they're called.

In his speech, Obama had some jibes at his own expense as well as some of the news organizations and politicians in the room.

Entering to the rap track 'All I Do Is Win' by DJ Khaled, Mr Obama joked about how re-election would allow him to unleash a radical agenda.

But then he showed a picture of himself golfing on a mock magazine cover of 'Senior Leisure' .

“I’m not the strapping young Muslim Socialist that I used to be,” the president remarked.

He also showed a spoof promo for Steven Spielberg's followup to "LIncoln," a biopic called "Obama" featuring none other than our own Daniel Day Lewis in another 'deep immersion' role*.

Seems like a good laugh was had by all at the event.

It's the second time in recent weeks that Obama's sense of humour has been making headlines, after he revealed last week he and Michelle's strategy for discouraging his daughters from getting tattoos.

*Yes, we know. DDL is not really Irish, he wasn't in the video and we made up 'deep immersion'. Deal with it.
