Director says sorry for making 'Armageddon'

Director Michael Bay has apologised for his film 'Armageddon'.

The disaster movie starring Bruce Willis was slated by critics, with Bay admitting he would completely change the 'last third' if he could go back.

"I will apologise for Armageddon, because we had to do the whole movie in 16 weeks," he said.

"It was a massive undertaking.

"That was not fair to the movie. I would redo the entire third act if I could.

"But the studio literally took the movie away from us. It was terrible."

Despite the reviews the 1998 film was the most successful of the year, grossing more than $500m (€383m) around the world.
