Seven-year-old cancer patient scores 69-yard touchdown

Jack Hoffman, a seven-year-old boy with brain cancer, scores a 69-yard touchdown run at Nebraska's Spring Game on Saturday.

Players left the sidelines and followed Jack, lifting him on their shoulders in celebration, while 60,000 spectators at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska went wild.

College football fan Jack, from Omaha, was diagnosed with paediatric brain cancer in 2011.

He has had two surgeries since and is now on a break for two weeks from a 60-week chemotherapy course, according to US reports.

Star Nebraska running back Rex Burkhead, a hot tip for the 2013 NFL draft later this month, befriended Jack last year and credits him as being the Huskers' 'good luck charm'.

"Jack is a fighter, a strong kid," Burkhead told ESPN.

"To see him run around and enjoy the Husker experience, it's a dream come true, especially for kids in the state of Nebraska."
