The green carpet was rolled out for Colin Farrell who was the guest of honour at a star-studded Irish film event hosted by 'Star Wars' director JJ Abrams in California yesterday.

Abrams himself attended the US-Ireland Alliance's Oscar Wilde event, held each year to acknowledge Ireland's contributions to movies, in apparently Arctic conditions.
