Mel C: Time for Spice themed 'X Factor' show
Mel C wants Simon Cowell to dedicate a live 'X Factor' show to the Spice Girls.
The singer - who recently reunited with her bandmates for the a performance at the closing ceremony of the London Olympics - thinks it would be a great idea for the show's mogul to introduce a week where the contestants perform songs made famous by the girl band.
The 38-year-old star said she would love to see their hit singles - including 'Wannabe' - spice up the show, after already being amazed by the talent on this year's series from singers Kye Sones, 30 and James Arthur, 24.
She said: "It's about time they had a Spice Girl themed week.
"As we've seen with Kye and James, it's possible to deconstruct a song and make it your own.
"I'd love to see our songs performed on the show."
The singer was full of praise for her bandmates Mel B and Geri Halliwell - who have made guest appearances on this year's series - and she admitted she enjoyed seeing Scary Spice's mean side.
She told the show's official website: "I'm really proud of Mel B.
"She's brutally honest and telling it like it is. I love her bluntness although I wouldn't have the guts to say what she does. She's like a good-looking version of Simon Cowell."
