Revellers basked in the sunshine at the V Festival today as the event revisited the glory days of “Madchester”.

Oldham band Inspiral Carpets were one of the opening acts on stage at Hylands Park in Chelmsford, Essex ahead of a headline performance tonight by The Stone Roses.
