Noel Gallagher: Olympics organisers 'asked me to mime at closing ceremony'

Noel Gallagher has claimed he turned down an invitation to perform at the Olympics closing ceremony after being asked to mime.

Sunday's show raised a few eyebrows when the Noel-penned hit 'Wonderwall' was performed by his brother Liam - with whom he had a major falling-out - and the rest of his former Oasis bandmates, who now record as Beady Eye.
