Samia Smith would love to be in 'Coronation Street' in 10 years.
The 30-year-old actress - who plays hairdresser Maria in the ITV soap - admits she has wasted "a lot of energy" by seeking projects that have not worked out and she would be delighted to stay on the show.
She said: "I'd be very happy if I was still in 'Corrie' in 10 years time. I think because of everything that has happened in the last few years I'm trying not to plan too much ahead. I am happy for each day.
"I often get anxious about things that never end up happening and it's such a waste of energy. I'm a terrible worrier but I'm working at that. They say that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger and I am definitely a stronger person now than I was back then."
Samia has made great friends on the set, and she feels like some of them are like a "second family".
She added: "I'd say Jane Danson is my closest pal on set. I've known her for about 20 years - likewise Alan Halsall, Andy Whyment and Ryan Thomas. We've all grown up together - they really are my second family. We look out for each other."
