New film role for Lohan
Lindsay Lohan has secured her next film role.
Producer Braxton Pope said the 26-year-old will star in The Canyons, a story of sex and ambition among 20-somethings in Los Angeles, written by Less Than Zero author Bret Easton Ellis.
Paul Schrader, who wrote Taxi Driver and directed American Gigolo, is set to direct the film.
The new role comes amid Lohan’s ongoing legal issues, a recent car crash and run-in with paramedics.
Her publicist, Steve Honig, said the actress has been on set since last week.
Lohan recently completed work on the Lifetime movie Liz & Dick, in which she played Elizabeth Taylor.
