Galway Arts Festival launches today

Thousands of visitors will descend upon Galway this fortnight as the 35th Galway Arts Festival gets underway today.

It will be opened by TV actors John Mahoney of 'Frasier' fame, and Rondi Reed of 'Mike and Molly', who will be appearing together in 'Outgoing Light', one of the shows hitting the boards during the festival.

There are about 90 events this week alone and John Crumlish, Chief Executive of Galway Arts Festival, is hoping the rain will hold off.
