Rodgers to speak at Liss Ard Festival
Disco legend Nile Rodgers will be appearing at two separate stages at this summer's Liss Ard Festival, it has been announced today.
As well as headlining with his band Chic, Rodgers will be also appearing at the Co Cork festival's literary stage to talk about his recent autobiography. 'Le Freak: An Upside Down Story of Family, Disco, and Destiny'.
"Expect candour and genuine warmth from the man who has experienced an extraordinary musical journey, as he talks us through the winding turns in his life," said a festival statement.
Promoters have also announced additional electronic music acts for the two-day event, including Chromatics, Cork-born DJ John Daly, DJ KORMAC and Sacha Puttnam, as well as veteran reggae DJ David Rodigan.
Lisa Hannigan, Toots & The Maytals, Paul Buchanan, The Bob Mould Band, Roy Harper, Interference, West Cork Ukulele Orchestra, Mick Flannery and Joan as Policewoman have previously been confirmed to play.
The Liss Ard Festival, will take place in Skibbereen, Co Cork on August 4 and 5.
Weekend camping tickets and weekend no-camping tickets are available, priced €89.50 and €70.50 respectively, from Ticketmaster. Day tickets cost €39.50.
