Stacey Solomon is filming a TV comedy pilot.

The singer and reality TV star - who came third on 'The X Factor' in 2009 - is set to appear in a new semi-fictional sitcom like US shows such as 'Seinfeld' and 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'..

A source told The Sun newspaper: "There's a lot of excitement about this project.

"It's not just another reality TV show, there's a brilliant production team behind it. There's strong interest from ITV."

In the show, Stacey's mother and father will be played by Ronni Ancona and Phil Cornwell respectively.

The show is being written by Rob Colley who has previously worked on 'Strictly Come Dancing' and 'The Graham Norton Show' and Dan Gaster who has been part of 'Mock the Week' and 'Have I Got News For You'.

'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me out of Here' star Stacey is set for a busy year, as she also plans to bring out her debut album in the autumn and became a mum for the second time in May, welcoming son Leighton Riley with future husband Aaron Barham.

She recently told how happy she was since giving birth, saying: "I couldn't be happier. I've got a lovely family, a wonderful fiance, my own home and a brilliant job."

Stacey also has a son, Zachary, four, from a previous relationship.
