Christian Bale almost quit his role as Batman because of the tight costume.

The 38-year-old actor - who tackles the superhero and his alter ego Bruce Wayne for the third time in forthcoming movie 'The Dark Knight Rises' - was so "claustrophobic" when he donned the iconic suit for the first time in 'Batman Begins', he thought director Christopher Nolan should recast the part.
