Fassbender to star in 'Assassin's Creed' film

Michael Fassbender is to produce and star in a film based on a hit video game.

The Irish-German actor has agreed to work on a movie version of 'Assassin's Creed', set during the Crusades.

The video game franchise has sold more than 30 million copies since 2007.
