'Robber' Geary inspired to title album after quote from woman

Singer/songwriter Mark Geary has said he is performing with five backing singers as he prepares to launch his new album.

The Dublin performer has praised the more rounded sound he can create with several voices.

He has also described himself as a "robber" when it comes to songwriting, and an unashamed one.

Geary explained that the title of his new album - 'Songs About Love, Songs About Leaving' - which is due out on June 8, came from a conversation he had with a woman.

"Songwriters are kind of robbers. We're listening for people to say profound things because we kind of struggle with that," he said.

He asked a woman what kinds of songs she liked, and she replied: "Songs about love, songs about leaving" and decided to call the album that.
