Mike D reveals 'blur of emotions' after death of MCA
Beastie Boys rapper Mike Diamond (Mike D) has paid tribute to late bandmate Adam Yauch (MCA).
Mike admitted he has been in a "blur of deep emotions" since 47-year-old Adam's passing on Friday after a three-year battle with cancer in his parotid gland and a lymph node.
He wrote on the group's Facebook page: "I know, we should have tweeted and instagrammed every sad, happy and inspired thought, smile or tear by now. But honestly the last few days have just been a blur of deep emotions for our closest friend, band mate and really brother. I miss Adam so much.
"He really served as a great example for myself and so many of what determination, faith, focus, and humility coupled with a sense of humour can accomplish. The world is in need of many more like him. We love you Adam."
Fellow band mate Adam 'Ad-Rock' Horovitz first voiced his tribute to Yauch on Sunday night, posting on the band's website: "I'm glad to know that all the love that Yauch has put out into the world is coming right back at him thank you (sic)."
Madonna, Jay-Z , Justin Timberlake, Coldplay and Eminem were among a host of stars to pay tribute to the late rapper in either words or with performances.
