Rolling Stones return to studio

The Rolling Stones are heading back to the studio next week.

Guitarist Ronnie Wood has confirmed plans to start new sessions, ahead of the legendary '(I Can't get No) Satisfaction' bands 50th anniversary celebrations.

A source told the New York Post newspaper Wood was overheard in New York on Tuesday, saying singer Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards are going to "play around with some ideas in the studio next week."

Jagger and Richards ended their feud earlier this year, in time for them to tour next year.

Wood has also previously confirmed plans for new studio sessions with Richards, Wood and drummer Charlie Watts which could also include fifth member and original bass player Bill Wyman.

Wood, 68, said: "We're back in touch, which is great, because I hadn't really spoken to him for years."

When asked if Wyman would rejoin the band, he added: "I think he's up for it. We talked about it. I'll let you know when I can."

Wyman sat in on practices between the group held in London last December, his first since leaving the group in 1992, which Wood admits he set up to entice Jagger back to the group.

He added: "On the third day, Mick turned up, which was a real joy. Because I set it up really as a magnet, you know."
