End of the line for Downton's Countess of Grantham?

It could be the end of the road for the Dame who plays the Dowager in Downton.

Maggie Smith has reportedly told the show's creator Julian Fellowes that the third series should be her last as the Dowager Countess of Grantham.

It is thought the 77-year-old is keen to pursue other roles.

It has already been revealed that a key character will die in the next season.
