Ricki Lake elopes

Ricki Lake and Christian Evans eloped on Sunday.

The 43-year-old talk show host and Christian, 40, shunned a lavish ceremony and tied the knot in secret in southern California with Ricki revealing she was “relaxed and excited” on her big day.

She told People magazine: "It was a beautiful moment I will never forget. I wasn't anxious or nervous. I was really relaxed and excited."

The former ‘Dancing With The Stars’ contestant posted a picture of herself in her wedding dress on twitter and captioned it: “Yup. This is me.... Sadie Sadie married lady. :) :) Love is in the air. Xo (sic)”

She added: “It's official, and I am so happy! RT @peoplemag she's married! congrats to @RickiLake and husband Christian Evans (sic)”

Ricki previously admitted she was unsure if she would ever fall in love again following the breakdown of her marriage to artist Rob Sussman – the father of her two sons Milo, 15, and Owen, 10 - after 10 years.

She said: "I didn't think it would happen at this point in my life. Christian and I just clicked. It just feels like he was the right one all along."
