David Letterman has signed a two-year deal with CBS that will see him clinch the title as the longest-running late-night talk show host in TV history, albeit over two networks.

David Letterman has signed a two-year deal with CBS that will see him clinch the title as the longest-running late-night talk show host in TV history, albeit over two networks.

Letterman began his show on NBC in 1982.

With the new deal he will surpass Johnny Carson's record of almost 30 years at NBC's 'Tonight Show'.
