JLS going back to their roots

JLS are going back to where they "started out" on their new album.

The 'Proud' group – Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, J.B. Gill and Oriste Williams - are excited about adding a more R n' B sound to their next record, and say it will be very different to their previous chart efforts.

Humes said: "We're definitely going in a new direction with this album. It's going to be a bit more R n' B and back to where we started out, so we're excited about that."

J.B. added: "There's nothing confirmed, but we'd like to work with Ed Sheeran. If there are any collaborations, it has to be the right song."

The quartet are hopeful that their new musical direction can inspire others.

J.B. added: "Musically we're always trying to set the trend, rather than follow the trend."

JLS are currently touring the UK and wanted their shows to bigger and better than ever before.

Humes said: "We always want to do better and we wanted to top the last tour, so we brought that wow factor again with bells, whistles, lights, cameras – everything."

Merrygold added to TOTP magazine: "Even though our last tour was such a massive show, this one makes that seems small. We even had to do lots of training to prepare for this one."
