Olly Murs thinks Cheryl Cole’s internet must be broken after she ignored his offer of a date.

The 'Heart Skips A Beat' hitmaker - who asked the brunette beauty for her phone number via twitter earlier this week – joked that the only reason why he hasn’t received a reply from Cheryl accepting the date is because her “wi-fi must be broken”.

He said: “It was a bit of a joke; I thought, ‘Cheryl Cole has just tweeted me so I might as well ask for her number’.

“But her wi-fi must be down or something because I haven’t received a reply.”

However, perhaps in an attempt to score a date with a lucky lady, Olly – who is currently single – admitted he is on a “no-carbs diet” in the hope of ridding himself of his “belly”.

He added in an interview on BBC One’s ‘The Graham Norton Show’: “I’m on a no-carbs diet. I went on holiday with the lads at the start of the year an you know what it’s like, I got papped and had a bit of a belly on me so I decided it was time to lose a bit of weight.

“I’m eating chicken and cashew nuts for breakfast. Steak and green beans for lunch and salmon and veg for dinner.”

Olly has bemoaned his single status for some time, and admitted living with his parents has somewhat hampered his love life.

He recently said: "I never bring girls home. My mum and dad wouldn't let me have girls over. They're only allowed to come for dinner and do it properly.

"So if I met a girl, I'd have to go to their house - or get a hotel room - if that's what they wanted."

Meanwhile, Cheryl has been linked to the likes of singer Taio Cruz and dancer Derek Hough following her divorce from Chelsea football star Ashley Cole in September 2010.
