Brand set to present US TV show

Russell Brand is set to host his own topical TV show in the US.

'Strangely Uplifting' will see the 'Arthur' and 'Get Him To The Greek' funnyman air his views on current affairs and popular culture, The Sun reports.

The show, seen as a competitor to Jon Stewart’s hugely successful 'The Daily Show', will also be broadcast in Ireland on the Sky Atlantic channel.

Brand – who split from pop star wife Katy Perry in December – will soon be seen on the big screen alongside Tom Cruise in musical comedy 'Rock Of Ages'.
