Bono is being lined up to judge 'Superstar'.

The U2 frontman is reportedly top of show supremo Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber's list of potential panellists for the forthcoming talent show, which is looking for someone to appear in a touring production of 'Jesus Christ Superstar'.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "It's definitely a long shot, there's no doubt about that.

"But Andrew is keen to get Bono on board and if anyone could pull off something like this, then it is him."

Andrew and ITV chiefs are so desperate to land Bono, they are said to be planning to cram the show into a two-week special so as not to disrupt his schedule too much.

Former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger - who was recently axed from the US version of 'The X Factor' - is also heavily tipped to land a role on the panel.

Auditions for the role of Jesus are currently taking place, with David Grindrod - who worked on the casting of musical movies 'Mamma Mia!' and 'The Phantom of the Opera' - overseeing the selection process.
