Andre rushes to brother's side after cancer diagnosis
Peter Andre has rushed to Australia after learning his older brother has stomach cancer.
The 38-year-old singer flew Down Under and went straight to the hospital after discovering his 52-year-old brother Andrew Andre had been diagnosed with the illness, and cut short a trip to Africa to be by his sibling's side.
A source said: "Pete has been knocked for six by this. He found out last week that Andrew was ill with cancer and that it was actually really serious.
"He was in Africa, but once he got back to England he flew straight out to Oz to be with his family.
"He left the kids with Katie and has told them that he'll hopefully be back next week. His other brother, Michael has gone out there too. It's a real nightmare for everyone. Pete is so upset and worried for Andrew."
The TV star - who has two children, Junior, six, and Princess, four, with his ex-wife Katie Price - is expecting his brother to undergo a number of operations to remove the cancer, and those close to him are "very tense" about the situation.
The source added to The Sun newspaper: "Andrew is seriously ill and while the doctors have acted quickly by locating the cancer and making plans to operate, nothing is being taken for granted. It's a very tense time indeed."
Commenting on his travel plans, Peter said: "At the moment I'm not sure when I'll be back as I want to stay here for as long as Andrew needs me."
