Dappy: I'm a normal guy at home

Dappy insists he is a very different person out of the spotlight.

The N-Dubz star – whose real name is Costadinos Contostavlos – regards his public persona as a "shield" but claims his home life with girlfriend Kaye Vassell and their sons Gino, three, and 14-month-old Milo, is much more ordinary.

He said: "When I come into the house, I try to wind down and become Costas from Greece. I'll make some Greek food and be calm.

"This whole Dappy thing has been a shield that I can't get out of. But I feel confident in myself and really believe I can be an icon.

"I am a proper human being. I ain't no chav. I want to be like Ozzy Osbourne with hit after hit to make our country proud."

The 'Rockstar' singer – who admits he leaked a naked photograph of himself to get publicity – also blasted Katie Price, who is also known as Jordan, for "letting down" women with her behaviour.

He told Now magazine: "[Am I like Katie Price and Jordan?] Yeah, sort of but I don't rate her as a person. I've got my morals.

"The way she hunts down a new man every 20 seconds doesn't represent females in this country in the most appropriate way.

"I don't think Jordan deserves to have a house and nice things because of the way she acts in life. She lets down all women. You don't do that."
