April release date for Jack White solo album
Jack White will release his first solo album, 'Blunderbuss', in April.
The singer and multi-instrumentalist dissolved his best known project, The White Stripes, last February, and while he has been busy with a number of musical projects, admits he is been reluctant to release anything solo until now.
White said in a statement: "I've put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name.
"These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colours on my own canvas."
Although The White Stripes split, White remains a member of both The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather, as well as producing tracks for a number of artists and releasing them through his label, Third Man Records.
White has also recorded tracks with Insane Clown Posse and Tom Jones over the last year.
The first single from the album, 'Love Interruption', can be streamed on White's website, ahead of is release on February 7. 'Blunderbuss' will be released on April 24.
