Paul Giamatti has bagged a role in a new adaptation of 'Romeo And Juliet'.

Paul Giamatti has bagged a role in a new adaptation of 'Romeo And Juliet'.

The 'Sideways' star will play Friar Lawrence in the upcoming movie from director Carlo Carlei, reports Variety.

His character will be dishing out advice to British actor Douglas Booth, who has been cast as Romeo, and True Grit star 'Hailee Steinfeld' , who has clinched the role of Juliet.

Gossip Girl actor Ed Westwick and 'Let Me In' star Kodi Smit-McPhee have signed on to play Tybalt and Benvolio respectively.

Production on the adaptation – which was penned by 'Downton Abbey' scribe Julian Fellowes – starts in Italy this month.
