Murder in store for EastEnders character

EastEnders' Heather Trott is to be murdered by Ben Mitchell.

Cheryl Fergison filmed her final scenes as the unlucky-in-love launderette worker earlier this week and despite hoping for a happy exit, it has now emerged she will be the victim of a cold-blooded killing at the hands of the troubled teen.

Viewers will see Ben (Joshua Pascoe) leave Heather's flat dripping in blood, but after no-one on Albert Square spots him, his hardman dad Phil (Steve McFadden) later destroys the evidence.

A number of Walford residents will come under suspicion over the killing, including businessman Ian Beale and Darren Miller, the father of Heather's young son George.

Phil's girlfriend, Shirley Carter is devastated by the death of her best friend and soon starts to suspect that the ruddy-faced bad boy was involved in some way.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Heather's exit stuns the Square. Everyone is looking over their shoulder wondering who is responsible."

Before her death, Heather's boyfriend Andrew Cotton proposes to her - and he soon becomes a suspect for the murder.

A show spokesman added: "Heather's life will go through various twists and turns over the next couple of months which will place numerous people in the frame."
