Spielberg: If Clint doesn’t retire, I won't either
Steven Spielberg has revealed that he has no plans to retire from film-making.
The Oscar-winning director even admitted that he has a bit of rivalry with fellow film-maker Clint eastwood about quitting.
I have no plans to quit,” he insisted.
“Clint Eastwood is one of my best friends – I’ve known him for 40 years – and we have a great, almost jokey relationship about retirement. Clint’s like 81 now, and I always say, ’OK friend, are you ready to retire this year?’ He says, ’No, are you?’ And I say, ’No’.”
The 65-year-old added: “I’m waiting for the phone call when Clint says he’s hanging up his spurs... If it doesn’t happen for Clint, it won’t happen for me.”
