Boy George has laughed off reports that he will take part in the new series of 'Celebrity Big Brother'.

The Culture Club star has been linked to the show, which is back on television in January.

But he told fans on his Twitter site: “I’m NOT doing CBB,” and then joked: “Who knows, I might do my own reality show!”

George, who is regularly touted as a contestant on television reality shows, has previously admitted he had been tempted to take part in one but decided against it.

He said: “I think it’s best not to do it, it removes some of the mystery. I get asked every year and I’ve come close but I don’t think so.”

Other names reported to be spending January in the house include comedian Ruby Wax and American actor Michael Madsen, who first found fame playing a psychotic criminal in Quentin Tarantino’s film 'Reservoir Dogs'.

The Channel 5 series starts on January 5 and will be hosted by former winner Brian Dowling.

It was won last year by 'My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding' star Paddy Doherty.
