No Oxegen next year?

Speculation is growing that the Oxegen Music Festival may not take place next year.

It comes after concert promoters MCD announced yesterday that the recently reformed Stone Roses are to play the Phoenix Park in Dublin on July 5 next year.

The date coincides with the Scottish music festival T in the Park, which takes place in Scotland from on July 6-8.

Oxegen, which has been promoted by MCD for the past seven years, has always been held on the same weekend in July as T in the Park, to facilitate big acts moving between the two festivals.

The Stone Roses have also been announced as the first headline act for T in the Park next year.

Furthermore, no announcement has been made yet about dates for next year's Oxegen on the festival website.
