Supermodel Brinkley vows to pay tax bill

Supermodel Christie Brinkley has promised to immediately repay the US$531,000 (€397,094) she owes in back taxes.

New York’s Daily News reported that the Internal Revenue Service had filed a tax claim against Brinkley, 57.

Brinkley said in a statement the lien was a “result of an error” and pledged it would be paid in full by tomorrow.

She said she regretted not paying more attention to her accounting and had been focused on her parents, who were dealing with “serious health issues”.

Brinkley was married to singer Billy Joel and appeared in his Uptown Girl video. She made her Broadway debut this year playing Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago.
