Cowell 'to make judging return'

Simon Cowell is to return to the 'Britain's Got Talent' judging panel, according to reports.

The 52-year-old music mogul – who quit the ITV1 show earlier this year to concentrate on the launch of the US 'X Factor' – is set to make a sensational comeback to the series alongside veteran 'EastEnders' actress Barbara Windsor.

An insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Simon wants to make it the biggest, most successful series yet. His presence will be a guaranteed ratings winner as he is so popular with viewers.

"Simon’s been focusing on US 'X Factor' and viewing figures for his British shows have fallen. He won’t take chances with 'BGT'.”

Comedian Michael McIntyre has quit the show to concentrate on his upcoming tour, while former 'Baywatch' hunk David Hasslehoff was axed from the panel, leaving pregnant Amanda Holden as the only remaining judge.

A 'BGT' spokesperson said: "There’s been a lot of speculation. We will announce the line up soon."

Simon is reportedly considering bringing in a fourth judge to the panel in a bid to shake things up, but Amanda has been told her job is safe.

She recently said: "I get told literally every week that I'm safe. Simon can't sack a pregnant woman anyway, that would just be too cruel."
