'Apprentice' sidekick takes over as host of 'Countdown'

Nick Hewer has been named as the new host of 'Countdown'.

The 'Apprentice' sidekick – who has worked as a PR advisor to Lord Alan Sugar for more than 20 years – will take over from current presenter Jeff Stelling and join maths whizz Rachel Riley on the Channel 4 afternoon quiz show next month, with his first scenes to air on January 9.
