Man held after Glee star's father's death

A man suspected of fatally stabbing the estranged father of singer Charice Pempengco, a star of the hit US TV show 'Glee', has turned himself in, police in the Philippines say.

Angel Capili Jr surrendered to the chief of his home village, according to Laguna province police chief Gilbert Cruz.

Officers say construction worker Ricky Pempengco was stabbed with an icepick by a drunken man on Monday after buying cigarettes at a store in a Laguna township near Manila.

Capili is also a construction worker, but did not know Mr Pempengco, according to police.

Charice, 19, who plays exchange student Sunshine Corazon in 'Glee', has cancelled upcoming concert appearances and called for justice for her estranged father.
