DeGeneres 'fine' after heart scare
Ellen DeGeneres said she was fine after having chest pains that prompted paramedics to respond to the studio where her US daytime TV talk show is recorded.
The comedian said she did not know what caused the chest pain “but it’s fine”.
DeGeneres said she started having pains on Sunday night and woke up feeling tightness and heaviness in her chest, comparing the feeling to having two cats on her chest.
She said the pains lingered when she came to work at Burbank studios in California, so she called the emergency dispatcher “to be safe”.
She joked that the paramedics may have overreacted, saying multiple trucks and ambulances showed up on the Warner Brothers site and appeared “like one marching band short of a parade”.
She thanked the medical teams “for caring so much”.
