DJ Dineen's long-running music show to end

Long-running late-night radio show The Small Hours is to come to an end in December after 15 years on the air, broadcaster Today FM announced today.

The show is presented and produced by Donal Dineen, a stalwart of the station since its first day of broadcasting on March 17, 2007.

Former 'No Disco' presenter Dineen said he was "disappointed" at the demise of the programme, a respected platform for Irish and international experimental music.

"While I’m disappointed the show has to end now, I’m very grateful for all the time I've had doing the job I always dreamed of and I've enjoyed each minute of every programme over the past 15 years," he said.

"The response from the audience and the many music-makers who joined me in the studio has been a big reward in itself and I want to thank everybody for their valuable support and contributions."

The Small Hours will air its last show on December 1.
