First half of lost Hitchcock film discovered
Film director Alfred Hitchcock is still surprising his fans, 31 years after his death.
Film preservationists say they have found the first half of the lost film 'The White Shadow', which was made in 1923.
It is the earliest known surviving feature film on which Hitchcock has a credit. It was discovered at the New Zealand Film Archive.
No other copy of the melodrama, described at the time as "ridiculous", is known to exist.
