R Kelly has emergency throat surgery

R&B singer R Kelly is recovering in hospital after emergency throat surgery.

Kelly’s publicist Allan Mayer said today that doctors drained an abscess on one of Kelly’s tonsils yesterday and that the singer will be “laid up indefinitely” at Chicago’s Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
