Brinkley flies in for 'Chicago' role

'Uptown Girl' Christie Brinkley has arrived in London's West End only months after making her stage debut in the United States.

The model turned actress is appearing as Roxie Hart in 'Chicago', a role she first played in New York in April to critical acclaim, at the Cambridge Theatre until August 6.

She will be joined by Amra-Faye Wright who played Velma Kelly opposite her on Broadway.

The musical, set in prohibition-era Chicago, was made into a hit film in 2002 starring Renee Zellweger as Roxie.

Brinkley, who has also appeared in films and television shows including 'Ugly Betty', is probably best known for her appearance in the video for Billy Joel’s 1983 number one hit 'Uptown Girl'.

The couple later married but divorced in 1994.
