Perry forced to cancel tour dates

Singer Katy Perry has postponed concerts in the US because she is suffering from food poisoning.

A statement released by her publicist said tonight’s show at Chicago’s Allstate Centre has been rescheduled to August 21 and tomorrow’s show at St Paul’s Xcel Energy Centre, Minnesota, is now set for August 23.

The statement says the food poisoning led to severe dehydration. She performed feeling ill at Summerfest in Milwaukee last night.

John Boler, vice president of sales and marketing at Summerfest, said Perry, married to British comedian Russell Brand, was not feeling well when she arrived. He said a doctor was in attendance during the day and the performance.

He said she performed “beautifully” despite being sick.

Perry apologised but said she plans to give fans the best show ever when she returns.
