Lily Allen has criticised celebrities who starve themselves or take drugs to lose weight.
The 'Smile' singer said she was “deeply unhappy” after she lost weight and would “distract” herself by drinking too much.
She told Elle magazine: “I hang out with models, the biggest pop stars and, you know, really and honestly, I hate saying this, but none of them are achieving those body shapes by being healthy.”
She added: “They’re not just going to the gym two hours a day.
“They’re not eating or they’re taking speed not to eat.”
The star, who married Sam Cooper last month, said one of the reasons she had a church wedding was the response of the community in her home village of Cranham, near Stroud in Gloucestershire, after she lost her second baby while six months pregnant.
She said: “People wouldn’t have thought I’d have a church wedding, but since I had the really traumatic experience last year, our local community all pitched in.
“We hadn’t been there long, but after the news got out we received flowers and really heartfelt, beautifully written cards.
“Our vicar said a similar thing had happened to his family, so he would come over and sit with me. It feels really nice. We feel protected.”
