Man held after Walsh 'indecent assault' claim

A 24-year-old man has been arrested after gardaí dropped an investigation into claims of an indecent assault by Louis Walsh.

The X Factor judge has welcomed the news after denying the allegations from the outset.

Walsh has instructed his legal team to vigorously pursue action against the Sun newspaper which first printed the claims.

The man in custody is being detained on suspicion of knowingly making a false report to gardaí.

He is being held at Pearse Street garda station where he can be questioned for up to 24 hours.
