Evans: Captain America my best-ever film experience

Chris Evans found 'Captain America: The First Avenger' one of the "best experiences" he has had on a film.

The hunky star appears as the titular character in the highly-anticipated Joe Johnston-directed movie, and his favourite part about shooting was the collaborative process it involved.

He said: "This was one of the best experiences I've had working with a director to date. I felt like my opinion mattered. Joe's not crazy into giving actors too many notes, but that's great. I want to know the technical stuff and he loves to five it."

The 29-year-old actor believes the experience helped him discover he might like to movie into directing at some point.

He said: "We had conversations about script, character, content. It was a really healthy dialogue and made me want to direct even more. Doing this movie could, should, get me a step closer."

Chris particularly hopes the audience will learn to love the character because despite being the "first avenger" – a man who goes onto a military research project that turns him into a superhero - he will always be "skinny Steve" Rogers.

He added to Total Film: "The goal is that, even in the last frame of the film, you want the audience to still see him as skinny Steve."
