Naomi Watts is set to star in new boxing drama 'The Bleeder'.
The Australia actress will team up with her husband Liev Schreiber for the first time since 2006's 'The Painted Veil' to star in the film based on the true story of New Jersey heavyweight boxer Chuck Wepner whose 15 rounds with Muhammad Ali inspired Sylvester Stallone to write 'Rocky'.
'Mad Men's Christina Hendricks is also being lined up for a role in the movie.
Director Jeff Feuerzeig has co-written the script with 'Bad Boys II's Jerry Stahl with the rights for the movie set to be sold at the Cannes Film Festival in France this week.
Although it is unclear what parts Naomi and Christina will play, Liev has previously spoken of his desire to play Chuck.
He explained: "There's a guy named Chuck Wepner, the Bayonne Bleeder. He's the guy that 'Rocky' was based on. He went 15 rounds with [Muhammad] Ali in 1974 and it's this wonderful story of what happened to that guy as a result of his rise to fame.
"That's the next thing I'd like to do. It's just a remarkable, hilarious film and I hope we get to make it."
