'Your Highness' a terrible low-brow film

Director: David Gordon Green

Cast: Danny McBride, James Franco, Zoey Deschanel, Natalie Portman

Made in Belfast, this dire medieval romp has the feel of a cobbled-together effort … and simply doesn’t work on most levels.

Jokes, that don’t rise above ground level, about male anatomy litter the film and eventually tire the audience.

Prince Fabious (Franco) is the family golden boy, forever going off to fight dragons and rescue fair maidens and win the loyal affection of his subjects. Brother Thadeus (McBride, turning in the film’s best performance) is the useless, lazy, incompetent one.

When Fabious’ bride-to-be Belladonna (Deschanel) is kidnapped the brothers are teamed up for a rescue bid … though, in truth, nothing can rescue this terrible film.
